About TeloHealthDx - Passion with a Purpose
Founded in 2022, TeloHealthDx LLC is a startup based on the telomere profiling technology developed in Dr. Yun-Ling Zheng’s laboratory at Georgetown University. The company leases laboratory space through the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI), a nonprofit incubator located in Frederick County, Maryland, just a 20-minute drive from TeloHealthDx’s headquarters in Clarksburg, Maryland.
As part of the FITCI incubator, TeloHealthDx benefits from access to state-of-the-art facilities and administrative support, an experienced laboratory operations team, a five-person business mentoring board tailored to the company's specific needs, and networking opportunities within a vibrant technology innovation community.
As an early-stage company with a university-affiliated founder, TeloHealthDx operates with a small core team of four individuals, while leveraging a network of collaborators to accelerate product development. The company is currently focused on developing telomere profiling tests for two inherited telomere diseases: Telomere Biology Disorders (TBD) and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
In addition, TeloHealthDx has formed collaborations with leaders in cancer, diabetes, immune system aging, and stem cell research to explore the unique role of telomere profiles in stem cell reprogramming, diabetes-related complications, immune system aging, cancer risk assessment, and impact of cancer treatments on health outcomes.
